Bangs just scream fall to me. These days it’s like mine are all grown up. Where they were once short, blunt and to my brows, they are now long, blendy and past my chin. They do what they’re told and they stay out of my way. They give me a little shape around my face, part easily from center to left or right, and go back into a pony with no pins. So, why am I dying to cut a short little fringe again?
I cut my bangs short in January of 2011, and aside from texturizing them, they haven’t been cut since. That’s pretty slow growing, wouldn’t you say? I guess that’s where my hesitation comes from.
Do you vote bangs or no bangs for me?
PS bang slang. (I’d go shakies or curtainies)

YES!!!!! BANGS!!!!!!
I say “Go for the Bangs”!!
It took me two years to grow my bangs out and once they were long, I either pinned them back or was constantly tucking them behind my ears. I looooove the look of long bangs but they weren’t very practical for me even after all that work. In fact, I discovered your blog after getting them hacked off and struggling to once again control them while blowdrying my hair. Your “vertical brush” tip saved my styling life Ü so Thank You!
No! I’m growing out bangs I cut last winter and it’s hell! Plus I like your natural texture w/out bangs, it’s very hippie, beachy <3
Bangs are looking so awesome and fantastic. The blog is fantastic and informative.
I wouldn’t. I love your long bangs. It’s tempting in the fall but think about spring when you’ll have to grow them out again. Mine are almost long enough to go back in my pony tail, so I’m also writing this to convince myself not to give in to the temptation
Hmmm, such a tough decision. I always want bangs this time of year too! I thought I wanted bangs when I came to you for a haircut and I have to say I’m glad I didn’t get them. I hate having to style them all the time. I like the way yours look grown out..so I guess I’m a No then
I’m going to say go with the bangs! I just cut in my own 2 weeks ago after watching a bazillion youtube videos etc. (I also had grown-out ones from February, so the general shape was there) and they turned out pretty good
I’d say you’d call them shakies. Let us know how you do it and some maintenance tips. I’d love to know how to cut the hair around the bangs so that when I tie my hair up there are droppy-downy bits either side
I prefer with no bangs, but it’s your decision! : )
I love you with curtainies.
Bangs!
Your hair has looked fantastic even during the normally awkward growing out phase! I say BANGS!
I say no bangs. Only because I always get the bang itch and then regret it 2 months later!
DO IT. (I got blunt bangs in Summer 2011, and haven’t looked back since!)
I love bangs!! Do it !! You can always grow them out again? And isn’t that the fun in it ? So many different stages and mini bang trims to keep you occupied while you leave the rest alone!? Go for the bangs!
Shakies! They would look amazing on you. And as for the growing out, it’s not that bad. When you decide you don’t want bangs anymore they can grow out as sweepies then face framing layers. Growing out bangs is a lot easier to grow out gracefully then a pixie, trust me
I’m glad it’s not just me who itches for bangs this time of year… I’ve actually been on the verge of calling you all week to see if you’ll cut some for me. I have the same hesitations that you mentioned, but they’re such a fun, easy change. I LOVE how you look with bangs- gorgeous on you. I say go for it! Now let me ask you, if I were to cut bangs, what kind would you suggest for me? I trust your expert opinion and am curious to hear your thoughts.
No bangs!
Im growing my out too.. Do you know why bangs grow slower than the rest of the hair?
No bangs. I love your long waves & think it looks great with them grown out. Also, I’m growing mine out, too.
NO!! You will immediately regret it.Your hair looks amazing as is
Don’t cut!!! I’m growing mine out and it’s painful. Keep them for another month and then if you want to do it then do it!
For years my hair was shaped but all pretty well the same length. Then after thinking about it for ages, I got my first short bangs last March. I love them but it is harder to just get up and go. I find they take more work but I don’t mind because I like the way they look. You’ve got gorgeous hair so whatever you decide will look good, though I’d say go for the short bangs!
I vote bangs!! Although I totally agree your hair is gorgeous now…it’ll be gorgeous and new and fresh with bangs. Plus, I just had bangs cut and need your tips again. Your bang tutorial was so helpful but I’m betting you’ve got even more ideas now.
Yes to see something new but mostly no since it took forever to grow them out!
I’m PRO-bangs!
The growing out process is fun. Because you can slowly ease them into the rest of your hair and become “sweepies”. They’ll still look fine growing out – or – its an opportunity to wear great headbands and do some sweet french braids in front to pin them out of your face.

I’m a hairstylist and just went through the same bang-dilemma! I have been growing mine out for the last year, knowing I can always cut them because I love my “bangs”. I say, you’re a hairstylist, just do it!!
Love the longer “bangs” you have now!
I can see you rocking some curtainies!
shakie, not curtainey….but really I think none.
I think you should leave your bangs the way they are & let them grow! I know I like having bangs..for a while, then when they’re growing back out, I regret cutting them! So I say NO, leave them alone!
hey so i was litterally in the same exact spot you were in three weeks ago. we ahve really similare hair i have noticed so far from your blog and i was debating weathor to cut them or keep them growing. i cut them and best choice ever!!! when your growing your bangs out its true that there are a lot of perks but everyone always forgets all the things that you can do with bangs!!!! go for it girl! you will look amazing in bangs and youll love them. i deffinately do
Quench your thirst with a faux fringe. Bobby pins are your friend, try them before you get busy with scissors!
Great to read! Thanks!
No! Don’t cut them! They take absolutely ages and think of the versatility you have now!
Buy clip in ones if you’re desperate! (:
Well I decided it was time to have them again but i wish I didnt do it. They look great on some people but not on me hehehehe
use pin in bangs for a change but please don’t cut them.

oh girl, before I really hated BANGS because it irritates me in rough times and feels like my head is aching whenever I cannot clip it or put a hairpin on it. but all my negative thoughts about BANGS have changed, Thanks to Pinup Salon . and now, and no, I am very satisfied with my BANGS and all my friends love it. You too, just be yourself and follow your heart and go for BANGS!
Do it! Do it! Do it! I love bangs on you! It’s so fall <3
Your “bangs” look amazing. There is so much you can do with your non-bangs “bangs” including bangs if you wish
