Lips On Fire. Stila Caprice.

This week’s lip color is Caprice Fuschia by Stila, and it has a special place in my heart. I got this color in a gift bag for going to Betsey Johnson’s spring 2012 runway show last fall. I made friends with a girl who worked for a big magazine and she grabbed me and gave me a second row seat just before the show started. The little bag full of goodies was happily waiting for me. I thought this color was going to be a gloss, but like last week’s color (which you can buy here), it’s a cream stain and goes on very matte. Also, it stays on forever. I wear this color all the time. It’s a great summer color, but has just enough depth to have a place in my winter wardrobe too.

If it’s not obvious by looking at the below collage, this color needs to be applied carefully. With how long lasting it is, you need to make sure you correct any imperfect lines as soon as you apply it or else you need to just be all “oh, I’m going for the laid back look”…which is what I always say about the wrinkles on my clothes. *Pssst-I don’t own an iron*

I’m pretty obsessed with lip stains. This one is a show stopper, even Betsey Johnson thinks so. You can buy it here.

I love this color! I think I would have to put a gloss over it to tone it town (and I’m just more of a gloss person, honestly). Also, I don’t own an iron, either. Downey wrinkle remover spray is my best friend.

My ironing technique?: bring clothes into the bathroom during a hot shower. BOOM. I also don’t own a dryer. At 26, wasn’t I supposed to be taking care of these things better? Oh well. Line-dried clothes look all little-house-on-the-prairie anyway…or so I like to tell myself when I’m sad that the outfit I want to wear is too wet. Wah.

Who needs an iron when you have things like blowdryers, showers and flat irons to get the wrinkles out of your clothes? I didn’t own one until last summer when I had to wear business clothes to work every day (slacks with wrinkles, not the most professional for a wanna-be-lawyer).

ANYWAY, I love love this new lips on fire series you’re doing. It’s genius. Also, you are beautiful!!

Wow, a lipgloss that looks matte AND stays forever? That sounds almost too good to be true. I’ve never thought of buying a gloss (i love actual lipstick), but are you sure it stays long? I might try it then …
