Hairography

Sometimes I feel like I can never have short hair again. Most of the time, these thoughts occur during or after dancing…dancing slash insane hairography. What would I do if I couldn’t whip my hair back and forth?

Well? I would cry.

So here she is, doing hairography like a boss.

These photos have me singing my favorite Gaga song “Dance in the dark”. It’s the best one.

Why do you love your long hair?

Hairography best defined here.

I would never cut my long hair again. I got 13″ chopped off when Rihanna had that short angled bob. Never again! I felt like part of my personality was taken away!

I have never had really long hair. I got my first hair cut when I was 14. Before that I had had the occasional one inch trim but never much more. When I got that first cut my hair only reached just past my shoulders. I don’t know how often this is true but my hair just never grew longer than that, it had plenty of time, 14 years is plenty of time. Because my hair seemingly cant grow long, I cut it pretty short and wear it kind of messy, it is also very thick and half kinky curly half straight so the messy do works well. Here’s to hoping I will wake up one morning with miraculously long hair, no, I’ve actually come to terms with my short locks.

using it as a “prop” while dancing is riiiiiight up there for me on the list of reasons i won’t cut it. secondly, and this is maybe oversharing, but i have this silly hair length goal and i call it the nipple tickle… haha! i want to be able to cover my boobs with my hair like a real live mermaid! somedaaaaay. love the photos of you rockin out, girlfriend. xo! http://blog.tarapolly.com

I love my long hair mostly because my 3.5 year old loves it very much. She hates pony tails and I am not allowed to have my hair up. She always plays with my hair and tells me how beautiful it is.
I also love it because I love beach hair.

my hair just touches my waist. super thick with curls and waves. very hot in the summer. BUT i love it. it’s a part of me, i’d feel so self consious if it were short! and i mean short as in shoulder lenght- that’s as short as i’ve ever gone and it was so sad. i like to look down and see my hair not my boobs!!

    I love my short hair!

After deliberating for months, I finally got it all cut off and I love it so much. Although I miss a little bit all the fancy things I used to do with my hair, I think this pixie is the best for me. And I still dance! ;)

Nipple tickle!!!! :D Hahahaha! tara polly, that was great! I have to agree with rebecca….my long hair is a part of me. My hair is probably to my waist…in the back. The shortest I ever remember it being is just to my shoulders. My older sister calls it my security blanket because I won’t cut it…but I call that pure jealousy. ;) Boom! Just kidding. Yay for long hair!! But it sure is hot in the summer time…especially down here in the good ol’ desert-y land of St. George UT. Bleh… And by the way, love your dancing hair. Totally rocks my hair world!

as a fellow long-haired-girl, i was always super envious of the way short hair moves when girls dance. especially almost pixie short, that hair always looks fun & hot while dancing. while i, on the other hand, quite literally whip my hair back and forth where it usually ends up in some disgusted strangers mouth. oops. however, this makes me want to dance with my long hair now.

I love my long hair. Main reason? I think it looks a lot better on me than short hair. I also love being able to wear it straight, wavy, braided, etc. etc. For now you could not pay me to go short!

Ugh I cut my hair off to a very short bob last summer. It was in the middle of my back until then. I miss it so much. A year later and it’s not even to my shoulders yet. I wish there was a way to magically grow out your hair!

I love my long, one length hair because I can do sooo many styles with it! I’m a huge braid-lover and it is nice to be able to do all kinds of braids and there’s not a bunch of pieces sticking out everywhere. And it all fits in a ponytail off my face nicely.

My super straight hair has mutated into big wavy hair over the last few years. I am enjoying making friends with it. How lucky we are to be able to grow our tendrils ~ I have quite a few clients who’s luck has run out! Grow it while ya got it! :o )

I vacillate between really, really short hair and really, really long hair. Every time I grow my hair to the perfect length, I see a sophisticated gamine and I think, “That’s for me!” even though I am neither sophisticated nor gamine. I went from long, tangled blond hair to Dorothy Hammill circa 1983 and then back to long, bow-adorned preppy hair to Winona Ryder circa 1994 and now back to long, long wavy hair (still tangled, sadly). I also briefly fell victim to the French Kiss Meg Ryan cut in the mid-90s (but never the Rachel). Now, I am keeping it long as long as possible and resisting the urge to Emma Watson out. I finally cut 4 inches off when I started to look like a cross between a Southern Pentecostal and an old hippie as I am neither of those things (not that they don’t both have great hair). Now, at 34, I am starting to wonder what the age cut-off is for long, LONG hair? Is it mid-40s? Earlier? Later? Never?
