I was sick on Monday with a stupid cold. I took turns watching movies, napping and checking facebook. One of the movies I watched was an old favorite “The Royal Tenenbaums”. If you haven’t seen it, you really should. Like all Wes Anderson movies, it’s got a cool/muted color scheme, dark humor and a dysfunctional family. Also, it was filmed in my neighborhood here in NYC and I recognize so many outdoor scene locations. I love when that happens.
Anyway, Gwyneth Paltrow’s character, Margot, is the best role she’s ever done. Margot wears a fur coat, a stripey collared dress and a blonde bob with a red barrette for pretty much the whole movie. Also, she has a wooden finger. But really, her straighty straight bob is spectacular.
Whenever I watch this movie, I remember that I want to be Margot for Halloween some year. Jake would make a great Richie if he grew his hair out!

A bunch of once child prodigies and the problems of piking to early in life…..great film. Amazing cast.
I want a fur coat like Margot Tenenbaum
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been tempted to buy a polo dress in homage to Margot. It’s simply not a flattering look.
I looooooove this film. It gets better and better every time I watch it.
It looks like she’s wearing a wig to me. I’m going to watch this movie, now that you suggested it, it better be good
I Love this movie, and her hair is so perfect. I think you should do it and be her for halloween!
This is my favorite movie of all time. I can watch it over and over and just laugh. Everyone it is does a superb job. I could make a blog just about this movie. You do one of Bridget and I will do one of Royal Tenenbaum. And you guys should totally be them for Halloween. That would be so awesome!
The year it came out I was Margot for Halloween. Col went as Eli complete with face paint and cowboy hat. We even had friends dress as Chas and Richie. We went to a party where no one had seen the movie and didn’t know who we were. Should’ve waited a few years I guess!
stop the presses. best movie of all time ever. I quote it all day long…”wild cat…wiiiiild cat.” Anyway, I just really love a good movie about a family that learns to forgive each other. If Tammy makes a blog I will be her first follower!
