Feathers and Braids for the Ash event.

A couple fellow Whittemore House stylists and I represented our salon at the new Ash shoe store opening party last night. We set up a little booth to do braids and feather clips for all the party guests. It was a really fun night and the guests were so cool. I thought they’d all be picky about what they wanted, but not a single person sat down with a plan. They all said “do whatever you want!”. I love creative freedom!

That’s SNL’s Vanessa Bayer on the left. I did her little mermaid braid and feather. She was the sweetest.

Angela and Chauntel working hard!

Another one of my braided creations

I love this action shot of the texture spray!

There were a couple of other celebrities there. A few of the 90210 girls like Shanae Grimes and Jessica Stroup. But the guest of honor was Solange Knowles, who was nice enough to pose with the Whittemore girls.

It was pretty cool to look out into the party and see every kind of braid imaginable. Also, it’s always nice to get out of the salon once in a while.

I have never left a comment before, but I LOVE this blog! I have 3 girls and I’m always trying to find ways to fix their long hair. I was wondering if you could PLEASE do a tutorial on how you did the girl’s hair in the red dress (4th picture from the bottom) and the girl’s hair in the texture spray picture as well? Pretty please!!??!! My daughter’s birthday is in a week and I would die to be able to do her hair beautifully like that for her birthday pictures. Thanks so much!

And someday if you could do some tutorials on cool things to do with hair that is thick as a lion’s mane that would be appreciated as well. I have TONS of hair and it falls almost to my waist and is naturally wavy. It’s hard to find cute ways to fix it so I just wear it down 98% of the time. Thank you for all of your information and hard work! Like I said before, I love your blog Ü

I love all these. Also, something that just popped into my head is travel hair! I would love tips and tricks on how to have good hair when traveling. Maybe it’s just me, but if I don’t have the exact same routine as I do at home, my hair just isn’t ever just right. Or it’s a lot harder to get to look good… Maybe I just struggle, but dealing with different humidities and temps, I’d love to know of and tips!
